Nintendo Switch Sales Hits 111 Million Units Sold
The Nintendo Switch continues its hot streak as the company has announced that the console has now sold over 111 million units.
Based on the latest financial report, 3.45 million Switches were sold from the period of April – June 2022, bumping up its total and inching it ever closer to the 118.69 million of the Game Boy.
Despite the milestone, Nintendo is experiencing a drop in year-on-year net sales, declining by 4.7%, citing factors such as the global semiconductor shortage.
The financial report also highlighted the sales of some titles in the aforementioned quarter, including the following:
- Nintendo Switch Sports – 4.84 million
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land – 1.88 million (4.53 million total, highest sales in the series)
- Mario Strikers: Battle League – 1.91 million
After the recently released Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Nintendo Switch owners still have much more to look forward to, especially with the likes of Splatoon 3 and Bayonetta 3 incoming in the next few months.
