D3 Publisher and developer Shade have announced Samurai Maiden, an upcoming action game for the PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC via Steam that’s set to release this Winter.

Players will take on the role of Tsumugi Tamaori, a student that has mysteriously woken up in the Sengoku period to defeat the evil undead with the assistance of 3 other ninjas known as the Gokage.

The Samurai Maiden trailer shows some fast and flashy gameplay, especially when some special abilities come into play. Interestingly, the game has a mechanic where Tsumugi and the Gokage’s abilities are heightened by kissing each other but will have to build trust in each other first.

A young woman from the 21st century with sharp swordsmanship skills finds herself in Honnō-ji during the Sengoku period! Together with a trio of newfound ninja friends, she races through the Underworld beneath Honnō-ji, confronted by enraged corpses at every turn!
Nothing can stop this all-female powerhouse team, as the young woman turned samurai slashes up enemies while the ninja wipe them out with their fierce ninjutsu!

And when things get tough, activate the Devoted Heart technique to have samurai and ninja lock lips to enhance their abilities!
