The Next Saga of The Witcher Will Include More Than One Game, Current-gen Version of Witcher 3 to Come Q4 2022
CD Projekt Red has big plans for the future of The Witcher and is said to include “more than one game,” making it a huge saga to look out for.
As transcribed by VGC, CEO Adam Kiciński spoke during an earnings call that the next saga in The Witcher franchise will span multiple games, with the first one already in development and will be using Unreal Engine 5.
“We have in mind more than one. The first saga was three games, so now we are thinking about more than one game, but we are in pre-production of the first game from the second Witcher saga.”
Additionally, CFO Piotr Nielubowicz reassured fans that the current-gen versions of The Witcher 3 will be coming out in Q4 2022.
Dubbed the Complete Edition, this update will “feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content.”
After the Cyberpunk 2077 fiasco, which the company has somehow successfully managed to fix since its much-maligned release, here’s hoping that the new saga of The Witcher will be everything we’ve hoped for and much more!
