E3 2023 Loses More Publishers as SEGA and Level Infinite Back Out
After news of Ubisoft backing out of E3 2023, it’s now reported that both SEGA and Level Infinite will also be skipping the industry event.
In a statement to IGN, SEGA says the following:
“After careful consideration, we have decided not to participate in E3 2023 as an exhibitor. We look forward to sharing more information on announced and unannounced projects in the future.”
Level Infinite has also confirmed that it will not attend the event. Among other publishers that IGN has reached out to, Bandai Namco declined to provide an update. Devolver Digital, on the other hand, will be pushing through with its annual Devolver Direct.
The IGN report also says that despite not attending E3 2023, Level Infinite has confirmed their attendance at Geoff Keighley’s in-person, media-only event called “Play Days,” which Bandai Namco has confirmed to be attending as well.
Activision Blizzard, EA, Epic Games, Square Enix, and more have not yet responded to IGN for comments.
At this point, there is much conversation as to whether the event will be canceled altogether, seeing as no major publisher has confirmed their participation in the said event.
E3 2023 is scheduled to take place on June 13-16, 2023.
