PS5 Surpasses 40 Million Units Sold
Sony has announced that the PS5 has surpassed 40 million in sales since it was first launched back in November 2020.
President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan shared a message, thanking the community for the continued support of the brand despite the production challenges that COVID brought about over the past few years.
“For more months than I care to remember, we kept thanking our community for their patience while working through these issues. But now PS5 supply is well-stocked and we are seeing that pent-up demand finally being met.”
“With the support of PlayStation fans, we have reached a milestone of 40 million PS5 consoles sold through to gamers since launch. Thank you so much to our community of gamers – without you this would have been an impossible task.”
Ryan continued to say that there are now more than 2,500 games for the PS5, including various blockbuster hits such as Final Fantasy XVI, Diablo IV, and Street Fighter 6.
Ryan also shared a graphic of the top 40 games as voted by the PlayStation community.
In the coming months, players can look forward to the likes of Armored Core VI and the highly-anticipated Spider-Man 2.
