One of its many selling points is the inclusion of two HDMI 2.1 ports that are paired with a 4K IPS display and a 144Hz refresh rate, which makes it a compelling option for current-gen console gaming with the PS5 and Xbox Series.

As a console gamer first and foremost, I spend more time on my PS5 and Xbox Series over my PC, and while it is tempting to just get a separate TV, I also have a space problem that restricts me from buying too much hardware. Having an all-in-one solution is perfect for my situation, and being able to plug in my PS5, Xbox Series X, and Desktop PC using both HDMI 2.1 slots and the DisplayPort is a godsend. A third HDMI slot would have been great for the Nintendo Switch, but that’s just the cherry on top.
The Legion Y32p-30 can also tilt, swivel, and also adjust its height, along with other small quality-of-life features like a headphone hook, a cable management slot, and support a 100×100 VESA mount.
Spec-wise, the Legion Y32p-30 ticks the right boxes for me and what I need for my humble and space-limited gaming setup.
Legion Y32p-30 is HDMI 2.1 Heaven
You’ve heard me mention the inclusion of HDMI 2.1 ports as a big selling point for this monitor, but why exactly is that? Well, in order to take full advantage of the performance of your PS5 and Xbox Series, you’ll need this new standard instead of the older HDMI 2.0 format.
The PS5 and Xbox Series are consoles that are a significant leap from the previous generation, capable of 4K and up to 120 FPS output depending on the title being played. Simply put, you will need HDMI 2.1 ports if you wish to see a distinct graphical and performance upgrade over the older format that cannot output at this level.
Most times, you’ll see gaming monitors feature multiple HDMI 2.0 slots or just one HDMI 2.1 port, but the Legion Y32p-30 has two, which is great if you have both of these current-gen consoles. Two is better than one, and in this case, perfect for both your PS5 and Xbox Series.
There are even USB Type-A and C ports thrown in for good measure for whatever purpose you can think of.
Legion Y32p-30 is Plug and Play
I’m not an expert on parts and hardware, so I’m always looking at the simplest and easiest solution I can find. It cannot get any more simple than being plug-and-play, and the Legion Y32p-30 is an HDMI cable away from being usable out of the box with a PS5 and Xbox Series.
But before that, how about assembly? Well, it’s pretty simple as well – just connect the base to the stand, twist the screw, and snap the stand to the rear of the display. It doesn’t take a genius, and you don’t even need to look at the paperwork to figure it out.
After assembly, it’s all a matter of plugging in your PS5 and/or Xbox Series into the HDMI 2.1 slots, and you’re good to go. It’s as simple as can be, and you’ll be playing your favorite games in a matter of seconds.
Legion Y32p-30 is Current-gen Ready
If you need further proof of its compatibility with current-gen consoles, a quick look at the Xbox Series compatibility chart tells you everything about how the Legion Y32p-30 is current-gen ready.
Despite the lack of Dolby Vision support, you can see that the Legion Y32p-30 is capable of 4K 60/120Hz, 4K 120 FPS, and HDR10, along with various movie and TV formats.
Legion Y32p-30 Performs Admirably Across Various Titles
Playing games is something I do on a regular basis, and these games can range from vibrant and bright vistas to dark and dreary dungeons. The Legion Y32p-30 doesn’t quite reach the image quality of OLED panels so it would be unfair to compare them to each other, but it does perform well across a wide variety of game genres and graphic styles.
Take a look at a variety of titles (Dead Cells, Atomic Heart, Cat Quest 2, Tunic, Trek to Yomi, Forza Horizon 5, and Yakuza Like a Dragon) across various genres that we played on the monitor and how it displays them admirably. Using Xbox and PC Game Pass, you can enjoy hundreds of titles, with more added every month, at a very low and affordable price.
The Legion Y32p-30 also passes the viewing angle test to some degree. I don’t see myself playing games at an unusually sharp angle, but in case you find the need to do so, you can still see a good chunk of the action.
Take a look at how the display handles from the front and side via Resident Evil 2 Remake and Spelunky 2:
Simply put, games will look great on the monitor regardless of art style. Whether it’s the sights and sounds of Forza Horizon 5 or the dark corridors of Resident Evil 2, you’ve got a device that can handle your title of choice.
It also comes with an RGB strip on the bottom for that “gamer” touch. I’m not particularly fond of it, nor will I be using it, but it’s an option for those that love their RGB.
Legion Y32p-30 OSD is Simple to Navigate
Out of the box, the Legion Y32p-30 is already a fantastic performer, but enthusiasts will want to tweak their display to perfection. The display comes with a simple-to-navigate on-screen display that offers multiple options and sliders to customize, even offering a preset for game modes, which optimizes the display depending on the genre.
The display also comes with FreeSync premium support on top of the usual settings that gamers can expect from a gaming monitor.
Overall, if you’re looking for an all-in-one solution for PC and console gaming, the Legion Y32p-30 is worth a look. It is packed with features that gamers look for in a display, and its performance is nothing to scoff at either.
Enthusiasts have a bevy of ports and options to tweak, but gamers looking for a plug-and-play display will appreciate the simplicity of getting it up and running in no time. Its price may put it in a tricky position considering that it is in close proximity to some quality OLED TV sets, but its “compact” form factor will certainly be a positive point for those with limited space that want an all-in-one solution.
