‘Switch 2’ Reportedly Shown to Developers During Gamescom
While there’s been no confirmation from Nintendo about the Switch 2 (or whatever it’s called), reports have popped up that the device was shown off to developers during Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
According to a report from Eurogamer and corroborated by VGC, developer presentations were held by the company behind closed doors, presenting tech demos that show off what the system is capable of. It’s been claimed that one of the demos is an upgraded version of Breath of the Wild that can take advantage of the new hardware. Eurogamer notes that it was just a tech demo, and there is no suggestion that the game will be re-released.
VGC, on the other hand, reports that The Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 demo that was shown off for the PS5 and Xbox Series was even featured and had visuals that were “comparable to the current-gen offerings” that ran with “Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology with advanced ray tracing enabled.”
If these reports prove to be true, then Nintendo’s “Switch 2” will be one more offering to look forward to. There are no concrete details or release date just yet, so we’ll have to wait for a more official announcement from the company.
