Persona 3 Reload Details of the fully revamped Tartarus

The gargantuan labyrinth Tartarus exists in the Dark Hour, an imperceptible interval of time between one day and the next.

Hordes of Shadows roam its inner depths, attacking the protagonist and his allies on sight. The new-and-improved Tartarus has enhanced visuals and upgraded features to make exploration more seamless and enjoyable.

You can now run inside the labyrinth and Auto Recovery will let you instantly restore the HP of your entire party with the push of a single button.

Breakable Objects – There are breakable objects containing Shadow remnants scattered across Tartarus. Destroying them can give you recovery items, loot to sell, and even Shards of Dusk which are necessary for unlocking treasure chests, so try cracking them open!

Locked Treasure Chests – You will find treasure chests hidden throughout Tartarus, some of which are locked. To unlock these chests, you will need to use a special item called Shards of Dusk. While they require an extra step to open, these treasure chests often contain better items compared to regular ones.

Reconnaissance – Sometimes after a battle you’ll have the chance to send a member on reconnaissance. They’ll temporarily leave your party and explore the path leading to the next floor. The party member will rejoin the group on the next floor, bringing back any items they’ve collected along the way.

Rescuing Lost People – You can run into lost people in Tartarus. If you rescue them, you may be rewarded for your efforts later in the future.

Shuffle Time and Major Arcana – When you win a battle, Shuffle Time can occur. During Shuffle Time, you can select one of the cards that appear to gain various effects or even acquire new Persona based on your choices. Additionally, there are rare occurrences where Major Arcana cards will appear. Each Major Arcana has unique effects such as increasing the amount of experience gained or boosting the damage dealt during an all-out attack. Once obtained, their effects can be applied to the remainder of the current day.

Arcana Burst – Arcana Burst will occur when you exceed the limit of Major Arcana cards. During Arcana Burst, the Minor Arcana cards rank up, powering up their effects, making your passage through Tartarus a whole lot easier. Try collecting every Major Arcana!

Monad’s Door – Sometimes a massive gate called Monad’s Door will appear inside of Tartarus. Beyond the gate are treasure chests containing valuable items that are guarded by formidable Shadows. If you manage to defeat them, you’ll trigger a Shuffle Time containing Major Arcana.

Monad’s Path – A type of Monad’s Door that opens to a long corridor teeming with fearsome Shadows. Defeating them will reward you with powerful weapons, character outfits, and valuable items that cannot be obtained from regular treasure chests. If you’re confident in your skills, try taking on Monad’s Path!

Rare Shadows – Golden Rare Shadows will occasionally appear in Tartarus. These Shadows will flee immediately upon discovery, but if you manage to defeat them, you’ll earn a ton of experience and money. There are also extremely rare occasions where you can come across a giant Rare Shadow. These colossal titans have amassed a stockpile of treasure from every corner of the floor; defeating them will not only reward you with experience and money, but also a vast array of items.

The Reaper – If you stay on a floor for too long, the Reaper may appear. The creature is extremely powerful, so try retreating if you happen to encounter it.

Clock at the Entrance – There is a clock at the entrance of Tartarus that can restore all party members’ HP and SP. To use this function, you need seven Shards of Dusk, so you should save it for emergencies.

Changing Outfits – While exploring Tartarus you can change your party members’ outfits from the menu at any time. There is a huge selection to choose from, including their regular school uniforms, battle gear, formal attire and swimsuits, so dress to the occasion!

Fuuka’s Support Skills – Fuuka’s exclusive support skills can provide intel during battle and be used to assist you when exploring. Select Navigation outside of battle to activate her support skills. These skills include Jamming, which makes you undetectable by enemies on the current floor, Shock Noise, which temporarily causes Distress to enemies on the floor, and Sylphid Aura, which enhances the entire party’s stats at the start of a battle. Similar to other party members, these support skills will cost SP, so if you run low, be sure to replenish it using items or other means.
