Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds will be getting an Open Beta starting on November 1, allowing players to play parts of the game to their hearts content.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Details

The limited-time open beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds will let players to experience the game ahead of its February 28, 2025 launch.

Exclusive PS Plus Early Access

• October 29, 2024 at 11 AM GMT+8 to October 31, 2024 at 10:59 AM GMT+8

Open Beta

• November 1, 2024 at 11 AM GMT+8 to November 4, 2024 at 10:59 AM GMT+8

Cross-play will be supported during this open beta test, and players who participate will be awarded a Palico Teddy Pendant and an Item Pack when the final game launches.

The Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test will include three scenarios: Character Creation, Story Trial, and Doshaguma Hunt. Characters created during this time will carry over to the final version, however, other progress will not carry over.

Story Trial will allow players to experience the beginning of the story, including a hunt against Chatacabra. The Doshaguma Hunt will pit players against an Alpha Doshaguma that leads a pack of dangerous beasts.

Additionally, new information about Monster Hunter Wilds was also revealed, providing details about monsters, fields, and the inhabitants of the land.

New Field: Oilwell Basin

The new field where the Hunter’s investigation team arrives, Oilwell Basin,’ is a land where, as the name suggests, oil seeps and accumulates, and at times fierce flames rage. In this area, an unusual phenomenon occurs where intense fires ignite the oil slicks, known as “Firespring”.

Azuz, the Everforge

In Oilwell Basin, there is a crafting village that spreads out around a large fire kiln. The people of Azuz are skilled in processing bones, ores, and refining oils, techniques that have been passed down since ancient times. What kind of story awaits in this land of Azuz?

The Black Flame

A mysterious monster, passed down in legends, known as the ‘Black Flame.’

Fanged Beast “Ajarakan”

It is characterized by a shell that has developed to cover its back. It becomes active during the abnormal weather phenomenon known as ‘Firespring’ in ‘Oilwell Basin’. It rubs its shell together, causing it to glow red.

Brute Wyvern “Rompopolo”

This monster makes its lair in areas where oil sludge has accumulated deeply. It disperses toxic gas from its tongue and injects gas into the ground through the tip of its tail, causing explosions. Unique monsters with such adapted ecologies thrive in this environment.

Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for a February 28, 2025 launch for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
