Diablo Immortal’s Eternal War Event is Worthy of The Lich King
Eternal War is upon Diablo Immortal, and starting November 13 at 3 AM to December 11 at 2:59 AM local server time, players can confront the Lich King on his Frozen Throne, earn great rewards, and much more.
By the time you read this, players will have already logged in to check out the event, and with the amount of loot and exclusive rewards to be had, now is the best time to fire up your character again for some demon-hunting action.
Here’s what you can expect from the “Eternal War” event:
Diablo Immortal Eternal War Event – What to Expect
Rewards Galore
The game isn’t shy with rewards, and Diablo Immortal’s latest event is continuing the tradition by giving away loads of powerful loot by simply participating in various activities. By simply playing the game and completing tasks, players can earn Frozen Boons to unlock rewards from a battle pass, which offers several rewards and weapon skins from the most legendary weapons from across Azeroth’s history.
From legendary crests and a Frostmourne weapon cosmetic, one item to look out for is the Mourneskull (two-star) legendary gem. Check out the specs below:
- Increases Resonance by 30
- +12 Combat Rating
- Dealing damage calls the spirit of the Lich King from within Mourneskull to drain the souls of nearby enemies, granting you Royal Dominion for 6 seconds, increasing all damage you deal by 7%, up to a maximum of 14% if at least 3 enemies were drained. Cannot occur more often than once every 20 seconds.
This is quite a powerful gem to gain in your possession, even at rank 1, especially since it can be easily gained. At rank 10, resonance increases to 300, combat rating to +66, and a damage increase of +18%/36%. Additionally, your attacks also bring forth 2 vile spirits that deal 12% base damage and an increased chance to find magic items by 10%, pretty much an all-around gem that would serve anyone well during their Diablo Immortal adventures.
Become the Lord of the Outland
One particular reward I absolutely loved was the Illidan transmog effect, which basically turned my Demon Hunter into the Lor of the Outland himself. This is quite tricky though, as there will be 10 rewards that you may or may not have to go through to get the cosmetic set, unless you are totally lucky.
Here are the odds of the first draw, which will adjust accordingly after every draw:
- Overprepared Emoji: 60%
- Iron Gambit Silvered Weapon: 15.63%
- Iron Gambit Bronzed Weapon: 15.63%
- Iron Gambit Silvered Armor: 1.14%
- Iron Gambit Bronzed Armor: 1.14%
- Plague Reaper Bloom Armor: 1.77%
- Plague Reaper Bloom Weapon: 0.76%
- Betrayer’s Bonds Portal: 3.16%
- Betrayer’s Bonds Metamorphosis: 0.63%
- Betrayer’s Bonds Cosmetic Set: 0.13%
The Betrayer’s Bonds Phantom Market will be available for the whole duration of Diablo Immortal’s Eternal War event, so you’ll have almost a month to get lucky or just grind it out.
If there was one reward to aim to get, this would be the one, because the cosmetic set looks absolutely insane. You’ll get the full compliment, from the glowing horns to the neon green weapon skins, a custom wing appearance, a cosmetic emote that rains down hellfire, idle and movement effects, and more.
The other cosmetic items, like the Plague Reaper set, are no slouch either, so you’ll be getting rewarded along the way to the ultimate prize. You’ll be spending quite a lot of Eternal Orbs for this one, so I hope you’ve stocked up because it is definitely worth it.
More Diablo Immortal rewards are up for grabs, such as weapon skins and an extremely adorable Murloc familiar skin which you’ll need more Eternal Orbs for.
Icy Face Off
Of course, it wouldn’t be a grand Diablo Immortal event without an epic boss fight, and Diablo Immortal’s Eternal War event brings players face-to-face against the Lich King himself.
Players will have to navigate to the Frozen Tundra and enter the Frozen Gate to take on the Lich King. Entering solo or with a party will cost an Icecrown Dungeon ticket, which can be obtained for free through daily tasks, and will transport players to the Fallen Citadel where they’ll need to make their way through a relatively short dungeon.
The dungeon itself will have a modest amount of enemies, with some traversal challenges along the way, like hiding behind blocks of ice to avoid the push of frigid winds.
Facing off against the Lich King is a sight to see, considering most everyone who has played Diablo Immortal is used to fiery and demonic beings. This time around, the terrain is icy and frigid, and plays well to the strengths of the opponent.
The Lich King has multiple attacks, which makes the encounter feel like a raid of sorts as one of his attacks will require players to hide behind blocks of ice to mitigate massive damage. Throughout the encounter, the Lich King will summon his horde of monsters, keeping players on their toes as they juggle staying alive and dealing damage.
This Diablo Immortal limited-time dungeon is repeatable, and will reward players with great cosmetic rewards and loot along the way.
For Glory
Lastly, a conqueror event will once again make a return in the form of Cutthroat Basin, where the arena takes on the look of Arathi Basin as the venue for a good old faction war between the Alliance and the Horde.
Players will basically capture multiple points of interest scattered across the arena, where the first faction to a certain number of points will win as they complete challenges for rewards. Character levels, items, and gems will be normalized, making it a skill-based affair. But watch out for skill orbs across the field, as they can activate certain effects that could turn the tide of battle.
Diablo Immortal‘s “Eternal War” World of Warcraft Crossover Event is now available until December 11.
