Day of the Devs 2024 The Game Awards Edition
While Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards 2024 celebrates the best and brightest of the gaming landscape, Day of the Devs highlights the hidden gems that are soon to come for 2025 and beyond.
Day of the Devs selects from a submission of over 100 indie game entries from around the world and goes on to amplify the voices of indie developers as they navigate the already saturated gaming landscape. The previous showings featured some standouts such as Viewfinder and Planet of Lana.
This time around, we’re seeing promising titles from Day of the Devs, including Sleight of Hand and Tankhead, along with other high-profile releases such as the upcoming early access of Hyper Light Breaker.

Wanderstop (Annapurna Interactive)

Wanderstop is a cozy tea shop management sim where a former warrior, Alta, looks after a tea shop where she tends to a garden and brews tea away from her former life.
Faraway (Little Eyes)

Faraway is a unique, cozy puzzle game where you play as a shooting star connecting towards different stars, forming constellations. Enjoy the soothing music while achieving a high score connecting said constellations in story or puzzle mode.
Ultimate Sheep Raccoon (Clever Endeavour)

In this cute party game, race to the finish line with other players with a twist – you get to build your course together and then race on it. The visuals are reminiscent of OlliOlliWorld and definitely a wacky title to look forward to.
Sleight of Hand (Riffraff Games) (Xbox and PC)

Inspired by stealth games like Metal Gear and Dishonored. Sleight of Hand combines stealth action and level design with the strategy of deckbuilding games. You play Lady Luck as she takes one last job to take out her old coven in the stylized noir world of Steeple City. Evade your enemies while using your randomly generated cards for unique actions.
Demon Tides (Fabraz)

Fabraz, the creators of the fun platformer Demon Turf, comes the ambitious sequel Demon Tides. Catch an improved visual style and unique gameplay flair as it is available on Steam in 2025.
Kingmakers (Redemption Road)

From the creators of the manic time travel driving game Road of Redemption comes Kingmakers, taking on the previous premise and bending genres seen in titles such as Chivalry. Time travelers travel back to medieval England with a modern-day arsenal to build an army to influence the progress of time and change the world. Combine first-person shooters with an intricate city-building strategy simulation by yourself or in co-op.
Blue Prince (Dogubomb, Raw Fury)

Imagine the atmospheric adventure of Gone Home, with roguelike elements involving endlessly procedurally changing rooms as you search for the mysterious Room 46 seen in titles like Myst. Will you solve the mystery?
Incolatus: Don’t Stop, Girlpop! (Funny Fintan Softworks)

A first-person arena shooter with a Barbie twist. Set in Y2K where you play as revolutionaries aiming to stop a nefarious mining company that is draining the world of its precious resource—love. Bunny hop and dress up your operative like no other.

The sequel to Team 17’s 2020 run-and-gun roguelike hit Neon Abyss comes its awaited sequel. Imagine a cosmic simulator where you create your solar system from stardust and go through the motions of filling in the rest of the planets in orbit. A visually stunning puzzle platformer where you can control time and manipulate the physics of the universe in order to traverse perils that normal adventurers won’t be able to traverse. Assist a stranded scientist as he escapes from a biomechanical world filled with secrets and death traps.

A cute and cozy take on the shoot ’em up genre featuring flying sheep. Its unique visuals are made painstakingly by stitching wool and bringing it to life with stop-motion animation.

A unique 1-bit television experience from the makers of Untitled Goose Game. Its vague premise gives Sam Barlow (Immortality) vibes with the tongue-in-cheek quirk seen in a Devolver Digital presentation.
Hyper Light Breaker (Heart Machine)

Tankhead (Alpha Channel, Kepler Ghost)

A unique combination of vehicular action, exploration, and narrative worldbuilding. You play as a Sleepwalker, a being tasked to transfer their consciousness into a machine in order to explore an irradiated wasteland of the ECA. As a drone, you can build your unique tank and explore this world by collecting parts and controlling specific areas of the tank from its treads to the turrets.
