Cygames has announced that gamera has won the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (GBVSR) tournament at the GBVS Cygames Cup 2025. The event took place at Osanbashi Hall in Yokohama, Japan, on January 18 and 19.

Alongside this announcement, Cygames revealed the release date for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Version 2.00, which is set for February 26, 2025.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Cygames Cup 2025 Victors Announced

On January 19, gamera and tatuma emerged as victors of the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising and Guilty Gear -Strive- (GGST) tournaments, respectively. Cygames congratulated the two competitors on their victories. As the GBVSR champion, gamera has qualified for a spot at the Arc World Tour Finals 2024 in Los Angeles, USA, scheduled for March 22 and 23.

First Look at Sandalphon Gameplay Trailer & Version 2.00 Release Date

Sandalphon will join the roster as a new playable character with the launch of Version 2.00 on February 26. Players can also look forward to new in-game content with the update. A special live stream detailing Version 2.00’s content will premiere on the official GBVS YouTube channel on February 21.

GBVSR to Return as Main Title at Evo 2025

The Evo Championship Series, the world’s premier fighting game tournament, will be held from August 1 to 3 in Las Vegas, USA. Following its success in 2024, GBVSR will return in 2025 as one of the tournament’s main titles.
