- Nintendo Switch 2 Editions are upgraded versions of Switch 1 games with better visuals, performance, and exclusive features.
- Enhanced titles like Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Party Jamboree cost $80, while Breath of the Wild will be $70.
- Backwards compatibility remains intact, meaning original Switch 1 versions can still be played on the new console without extra cost.
After the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, which revealed tons of details about the console, Nintendo has also confirmed the pricing of some of its games, specifically the “Nintendo Switch 2 Editions.”

The confirmation comes via various retailers like Walmart, stating that enhanced versions of Switch 1 titles like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Party Jamboree will cost $80. An older game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, will retail for $70.

Nintendo Switch 2 Editions are titles that were released for the Switch 1 but will receive improvements such as better visuals and performance, alongside some other features that will be exclusive to the new console.
Switch 1 titles that do not receive these updates are still playable on the new console via backwards compatibility, meaning no extra cost will be incurred. Titles exclusive to the new console will start at $70 for some, while Mario Kart World will retail for $80.

Other titles that are confirmed to receive enhancements are Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Legends Z-A. The pricing details to upgrade to the Switch 2 version of the game if you already own the original version has not been specified yet.
Alternatively, if you are subscribed to the Switch Online + Expansion Pack service, these upgrades will be free. This is true for both The Legend of Zelda games, at least, and it remains to be seen if it will affect all titles.
