Netflix has announced that a Korean live-action series adaptation of Solo Leveling is confirmed, with fan-favorite actor Byeon Woo-seok cast as the lead character Sung Jin-Woo.

Byeon Woo-seok, known for 20th Century Girl and Lovely Runner, continues his global rise with this latest project from Netflix. Nicknamed “만찢남” — a manhwa character come to life — he takes on the lead role of Jin-woo in an action-packed series that promises dynamic action, immersive quests, and stunning VFX.
The series is helmed by directors Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo (Ashfall, Castaway on the Moon), with production by Kakao Entertainment and SANAI PICTURES.
Solo Leveling follows Sung Jin-woo, a low-tier Hunter who gains extraordinary powers and becomes humanity’s last hope against deadly creatures from mysterious Gates.
Initially a KakaoPage web novel and webtoon with over 14.3 billion views, the franchise gained global popularity, with its anime winning nine awards at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
