Bloober Team has announced that its latest survival horror IP, Cronos: The New Dawn, has officially surpassed 500,000 units sold worldwide since its launch last September 5, 2025.
Cronos: The New Dawn Presents a Bold New IP
Known for acclaimed horror experiences like Layers of Fear, The Medium, and the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team took a daring step with Cronos: The New Dawn. Unlike their collaborations, this project was developed independently, blending survival horror with elements of science fiction.
Set in Krakow’s Nowa Huta district, the game introduces a unique monster-combining mechanic that offers fresh gameplay while paying homage to classic horror design. Despite high expectations following Silent Hill 2, the game has maintained an 88% positive rating on Steam three months after launch.
The game has also earned multiple nominations, including:
- Best Audio at the Golden Joystick Awards
- Best Studio nomination for Bloober Team
- Featured on numerous “Top Games to Play in 2025” lists
Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno expressed pride in the milestone, noting that launching a new IP always carries risks. “It’s gratifying to see Cronos reach such a wide audience—proving that survival horror still captures players’ interest,” Babieno said.

Cronos: The New Dawn is now available on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC.
