‘Horizon Steel Frontiers’ MMO Announced for Mobile and PC

Sony and NCSoft have revealed Horizon Steel Frontiers, a brand-new MMORPG based on the acclaimed Horizon franchise.
Designed for mobile and PC via Purple, the game expands the world of Horizon into a massive online experience where players can hunt colossal machines together or compete against rival tribes.
Horizon Steel Frontiers – What We Know So Far
According to early footage and developer interviews, Horizon Steel Frontiers will feature:
- Genre: The first MMORPG in the Horizon universe. A fierce survival adventure in a world where threats lurk at every turn.
- Setting: A new region called the Deathlands, inspired by Arizona and New Mexico.
- Gameplay: Cooperative and competitive battles against Horizon’s iconic mechanical beasts.
- Combat: Inspired by Horizon’s familiar hunting action. Experience large-scale raids with an advanced combat system.
- Mechanics: Players can pick up dropped weapons from machines, carry them on mounts, and use them in later fights.
- Customization: Instead of playing as Aloy, fans will create their own machine hunter with deep character customization.
Studio director Jan-Bart van Beek of Guerrilla Games described the MMO as a way to “step into this world anywhere, anytime”, emphasizing the thrill of taking down massive machines with thousands of other players.
