2K and Hangar 13 have announced that Mafia: The Old Country is getting a new “Free Ride” update on November 20.

The free update will add Combat and Racing Challenges, new items, game features, and more.

Step back into the Sicilian underworld with the “Free Ride” update—a feature-packed, free expansion for Mafia: The Old Country. Explore Sicily like never before with Free Ride Mode, introducing high-stakes car and horse races, brutal combat and stealth challenges, and new secrets hidden throughout the Valle Dorata.

Immerse yourself in Cinema Siciliano Mode for a vintage film aesthetic, take the wheel with first-person driving, and push your limits in “Classic” difficulty. Unlock new cars, stylish outfits, legendary weapons, and game-changing charms that redefine how you play.

Associate Design Director Josh Zammit explains that “There’s a lot to explore in this update, so players will have plenty of potential starting points. But I’m excited for them to experience the Valle Dorata in the most immersive way possible, and to me, that’s First-Person Driving. The first thing I’d do is spawn my fastest car from the garage, turn on the First-Person Driving camera, and just joyride. The new Photo Mode is another much-requested feature I think players are going to love. So get out there, find some action and beautiful vistas, and take amazing screenshots to share with friends.”

I love the races; it’s a ton of fun to drive around our world at high speed in the amazing old cars. There’s loads of technical corners, and the better you get, the more satisfying they are to navigate.”
