NiBo Games, an independent studio based in Prague, Czech Republic, has officially unveiled its debut title Paper Dungeon – Deep Down, a retro-modern dungeon crawler RPG that blends classic grid-based exploration with psychological horror and modern design.

A Surreal Tabletop World Between Life and Death

Paper Dungeon – Deep Down places players in a strange limbo between life and death, where oversized miniatures, VHS tapes, nostalgic toys, and relics of the 80s and 90s form the walls of a deadly dungeon. Guided by a mysterious Overseer, players lead a party of four heroes through traps, puzzles, and tactical turn-based battles while uncovering a narrative centered on guilt, memory, and tragic loss.

The game promises:

• Retro-modern dungeon crawling inspired by classics like Dungeon Master, Wizardry, and Legend of Grimrock.
• Deep tactical combat with 12 unique heroes, 40+ status effects, and hundreds of items.
• Puzzle-filled exploration featuring secret rooms, teleports, riddles, and narrative twists.
• Psychological storytelling that ties nostalgia and personal memories into the dungeon’s evolving design.

Paper Dungeon – Deep Down Timeline and Platforms

NiBo Games began development in 2021 and is currently preparing a free demo for early 2026. The studio plans to launch Paper Dungeon – Deep Down in Steam Early Access by late 2026, with a full release targeted for the first half of 2027.

The game is primarily developed for PC via Steam, and console versions for Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox are being considered with publisher support.
