Grinding Gear Games has announced that Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids will officially launch on December 13, 2025 (SGT), bringing a massive expansion packed with new shapeshifting abilities, a dungeon-crafting league, and a fearsome new Pinnacle Boss.
Players can jump in for free during the Free Weekend from December 13–16 across PC, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store.
Path of Exile 2 – Shapeshift Into Wolf, Bear, or Wyvern
The highlight of the expansion is the Druid class, which introduces a unique Talisman weapon system that allows players to transform into three deadly forms:
- Wolf – Freeze enemies with cold damage and summon a loyal pack.
- Bear – Build Rage to unleash devastating roars and crushing attacks.
- Wyvern – Soar above the battlefield, consuming corpses to empower lightning and fire abilities.
In human form, the Druid wields earth and storm magic, including volcano eruptions, binding roots, and thunder strikes. A new Spell Totem skill adds tactical depth, automatically casting chosen spells when fueled by charges.

Two New Ascendancies: Shaman and Oracle
Players can ascend into:
- Shaman – Consumes Rage to amplify catastrophic elemental spells, drawing power from Runes and Idols for advanced build customization.
- Oracle – Manipulates fate with Foresight and Converging Paths, unlocking over 130 new passives and timeline-bending abilities.
These ascendancies open up fresh build diversity, with exclusive modifiers and mechanics that expand the Druid’s role in endgame play.

Fate of the Vaal League
The new Fate of the Vaal League lets players construct temples by clearing corruption beacons. Each run unlocks unique rooms, enemies, and rewards, with medallions and experimental Vaal mechanisms adding further complexity.
Players will face the Royal Architect and ultimately Queen Atziri, now reborn as a Pinnacle Boss. Defeating her grants access to Atziri’s Rule, a powerful staff that elevates corrupted gems and unleashes nova-splitting projectiles.

Reworks, Balance Updates, and Performance Boosts
Path of Exile 2’s latest update will also include the following reworks:
- Over 30 new Support Gems and 250 passive skills expand build variety.
- 11 new Unique items plus extensive reworks across Ascendancies and active skills.
- Monster density scaling has been rebalanced for clarity, with rewards adjusted proportionally.
- Performance optimizations promise up to 25% higher frame rates and smoother console play.
- Visual improvements include toned-down Delirium fog for better combat readability.
Permanent Endgame Additions
The Abyssals mechanic will now remain core to Path of Exile 2’s endgame, offering new Atlas passives and upgraded Tablets with enhanced modifiers.
