The mystery surrounding the ominous statue teased ahead of The Game Awards 2025 appears to have been solved, with fresh evidence suggesting it is tied to a new Divinity game from Larian Studios.

The Game Awards 2025 Mystery Statue Answered

The speculation began when Geoff Keighley, host of The Game Awards, shared images and GPS coordinates of a massive demonic statue placed in the Mojave Desert. Fans immediately started theorizing connections to franchises like God of War, Diablo, or Elder Scrolls.

Santa Monica Studio director Cory Barlog has denied any connection to God of War, and Jason Schreier has also hinted that it is not connected to Diablo 4. However, he already knows what it is and has mentioned it is a good one.

Recent trademark filings in Europe, uncovered by MP1ST for a new Divinity logo and symbols, have shifted the conversation.

One of the newly filed symbols matches the design of the mysterious statue, strongly hinting that the teaser is for a Divinity-related announcement at The Game Awards. The filings were handled by IHDE & Partner Rechtsanwälte, the same firm that manages Larian Studios’ trademarks in Europe.
