Baldur’s Gate 3 TV Show Details
According to a report from Deadline, the adaptation will not be a direct retelling of the game but rather a continuation of its story, set immediately after the events of the game, offering fans a canonical path forward in the Baldur’s Gate universe and allowing the characters to deal with the consequences of those events.

The Baldur’s Gate 3 TV series will blend new adventurers with beloved characters from the game, so fans can expect familiar heroes, villains, and even devils to cross paths with the fresh cast. The announcement comes after the massive success of Baldur’s Gate 3, which won multiple Game of the Year awards and captivated audiences with its player-driven narrative. Mazin had this to share:
“After putting nearly 1000 hours into the incredible world of Baldur’s Gate 3, it is a dream come true to be able to continue the story that Larian and Wizards of The Coast created. I am a devoted fan of D&D and the brilliant way that Swen Vincke and his gifted team adapted it. I can’t wait to help bring Baldur’s Gate and all of its incredible characters to life with as much respect and love as we can, and I’m deeply grateful to Gabe Marano and his team at Hasbro for entrusting me with this incredibly important property.”

The project will be led by The Last of Us co-creator Craig Mazin, who will serve as creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Joining him as executive producers are Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, and Gabriel Marano from Hasbro Entertainment. The series will also benefit from guidance from Chris Perkins, former longtime Head of Story at Wizards of the Coast, who will serve as a consultant on the adaptation.
