Halo Studios Reportedly Developing Remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3
In a nutshell
- Halo Studios is said to be actively developing remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3.
- These follow the upcoming Unreal Engine 5 remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, set to release in 2026.
- Reports suggest the studio is also working on a new multiplayer project and mainline Halo entry.
There’s more Halo on the way, and after the announcement of Halo: Campaign Evolved coming to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC this year, it looks like remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3 are on the horizon.
Halo Remakes Early Development Details
According to reports from Rebs Gaming, a trusted source on news about this IP, Halo Studios is “actively developing” remakes of both Halo 2 and Halo 3.
“One of my new sources sent me proof to verify themself and confirm that the Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes are definitely happening,” they said.

Sources claim that development is still in its early stages, but the plan is to remake the entire original Halo trilogy.
Interestingly, the Combat Evolved remake will reportedly include nods to later entries, such as the addition of Brutes in prequel missions and even as modifiers in the original campaign.

Beyond the Remakes
In addition to the trilogy remakes, Halo Studios is believed to be working on a new multiplayer project and the next mainline Halo game, signaling a major expansion of the franchise’s future.
Additionally, it would be interesting to see whether future entries in this series will come to PlayStation, especially with Halo Studios community director Brian Jarrard noting that the community is excited to welcome new friends.
“As a community guy, I know that the Halo community is super excited to welcome in their friends as well—it’s just going to be more Halo for everyone. And it’s really a new era. Halo is on PlayStation going forward, starting with Halo: Campaign Evolved.”
