Marvel Tokon PSN Requirement Sparks Global Lockouts

According to SteamDB listings, the game cannot be purchased in 132 countries without PSN access. This includes regions such as Afghanistan, Barbados, Cambodia, Jamaica, and the Philippines, effectively making the title unplayable by legal means.

While PlayStation previously removed PSN requirements from several single‑player titles after community outrage, the company continues to enforce the rule for online‑focused releases. It can be argued that the playing population in these countries is smaller than in other regions like the US and Europe, but the fact remains that thousands of people won’t be able to play the game.

Interestingly, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls also does not have a price set in a few countries. While this does not mean anything at the moment, there is a chance the game will be available in these countries later on.

The situation mirrors the Helldivers 2 fiasco, where PSN restrictions initially blocked the game in multiple countries and tanked its Steam rating to “Overwhelmingly Negative.” Although the game eventually recovered after numerous updates, its growth and momentum were severely stunted.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is one of the year’s most anticipated fighting games, blending Marvel heroes with Arc System Works’ signature mechanics. Despite its hype, it’s sad to see that many PC players will not be able to access the game.
