Team NINJA and Koei Tecmo announce Hell Rising, the first DLC for Nioh 3, launching August 19 with new stages, weapons, enemies, and difficulty modes set in a chaotic future Edo.

A New Shadow Over Edo

Players once again step into the role of Takechiyo, who journeys through time to a future Edo overtaken by the Crucible. With allies like the legendary swordsman Yagyu Jubei and Spanish envoy Rodrigo, Takechiyo faces a new plot tied to Spirit Stones and enemies bent on dismantling the shogunate.

Nioh 3 New Stage: Edo in Chaos

Set in 1651 during the Keian Era, Edo’s once‑peaceful castle town is now a hellish battlefield. Yokai, rebels, and foreign alchemists swarm the city, creating tense encounters across sprawling areas.

Weapons, Enemies, and Challenges

The Nioh 3 Hell Rising DLC introduces the Hoko & Shield weapon set, balancing spear offense with shield defense. Players can unleash tactical moves like flinging shields at enemies while battling new foes of unprecedented strength.

The expansion also adds the Enlightened One’s Journey, a difficulty mode surpassing the Shogun’s Journey, with stronger equipment, higher level caps, and new Soul Cores.

Endless Replayability

Fans can experiment with Hundred Demon Realms Picture Scrolls, customizable challenges that unlock unique equipment and special effects. These battles can be tackled solo or in multiplayer, offering countless variations and replay value. Additional Guardian Spirits, skills, Martial Arts, Ninjutsu, and Onmyo Magic round out the expansion’s offerings.
