Riot Ends 2XKO’s Development Path

While the game built a passionate community, Riot noted that retention and engagement fell short of sustainability. Servers will remain online beyond 2026, ensuring players can continue enjoying the tag‑team fighter across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Final Champions and Content Roadmap

Through the remainder of 2026, Riot will release two final champions: Lux in September’s Patch 1.3.1 and Samira in October’s Patch 1.3.3. Alongside these updates, Riot will unlock all champions for players, introduce voice chat in private lobbies, and streamline matchmaking into casual lobbies.

The 2XKO Ultimate Bundle will package nearly all cosmetic content for a one‑time purchase.

Refunds and Player Support

Effective August 20, Riot has disabled KO Points purchases and begun refunding all money spent on 2XKO prior to that date. Refunds will be processed across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, with regional compliance in Japan and Korea. All owned content remains accessible, while avatar and profile items will be unlockable via Credits.

Competitive Series Continues

Despite the development sunset, Riot confirmed that the 2XKO Competitive Series will continue through November 2026, with prizing for Major and Challenger events. Beyond this year, community organizers can still run tournaments under Riot’s guidelines.
