Around 400 Players Battle for International Glory
The tournament began with nine Swiss-format preliminary rounds on Day 1, where only 32 competitors advanced to the final stage. Among all participants, VARREL’s Matsu delivered a perfect 9-0 record during the preliminary phase. Meanwhile, eventual champion Chappy faced elimination heading into the final round before securing a crucial victory to keep his championship hopes alive.
Singapore and Japan Dominate the Final Bracket
Day 2 featured the 32-player single-elimination bracket, with three Singaporean players and Chappy advancing to the semifinals. Kraken became a hometown favorite after defeating Matsu in the quarterfinals and winning his semifinal match 2-1. Chappy also battled back from behind in his semifinal encounter, setting up a championship showdown between Japan and Singapore.
Chappy Secures the Championship
The grand final opened with both finalists fielding Forestcraft decks, where Chappy drew first blood. Kraken answered in Game 2 with an aggressive Forestcraft strategy that defeated Chappy’s Dragoncraft deck and tied the match at 1-1. With the championship on the line, the decisive third game saw Chappy establish control through powerful Dragoncraft followers. Despite Kraken’s defensive Havencraft setup, Chappy maintained the advantage and secured a 2-1 victory to become the first-ever Shadowverse International Championship Singapore champion.
The victory earned Chappy US$30,000 in prize money along with qualification to Day 1 of the Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2026. Kraken received US$12,000 for his runner-up finish.
