SEGA has announced that the Sonic 35th Official Fan Meeting Tour is making its next stop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, giving Southeast Asian fans a rare opportunity to celebrate the Blue Blur’s milestone anniversary with some of the franchise’s key creators.
The event is scheduled for November 7, 2026, and is part of the worldwide celebration marking Sonic’s 35th anniversary. Fans can look forward to developer talks, retrospectives on past Sonic games, giveaways, autograph sessions, and exclusive event merchandise for all attendees.
Meet the Creators Behind Sonic
The Kuala Lumpur stop will feature two of the most influential figures in the Sonic franchise.
Kazuyuki Hoshino, Creative Director of Sonic the Hedgehog, has worked on the series since Sonic CD and contributed to titles such as Sonic Adventure and Shadow the Hedgehog. Hoshino is also credited with creating fan-favorite characters including Amy Rose, Metal Sonic, and Shadow the Hedgehog.
Meanwhile, Tomoya Ohtani has served as the Sound Director and Lead Composer for the Sonic series since Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). His work includes many of the franchise’s most recognizable tracks, including His World, Endless Possibility, and Undefeatable.
