‘Family Plan’ For Xbox Game Pass Could Reportedly Launch Later This Year
Xbox Game Pass is widely believed to be one of the best deals in gaming right now, thanks to its affordable monthly fee paired with the addition of games on a regular basis. Apart from not having an annual subscription option, one knock on the service was the lack of a ‘Family Plan’ similar to Nintendo Switch Online, which allowed a group of users to chip in for shared access.

It seems that Microsoft has been looking into it and is reportedly planning to launch a family plan that could be coming later this year.
A report by Windows Central’s Jez Corden cites trusted sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, confirming that Xbox is “moving ahead with an Xbox Game Pass Family Plan, which could be set to launch sometime this year.”
Based on the information gathered, the family plan will give access to five players sharing the plan and will be “far cheaper” than five individual subscriptions, with one account holder, similar to how Netflix is operating.
Outside of this, there are still unanswered questions like if there will be a separate plan for PC and Xbox, or whether it will all be a part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Further details like pricing are still unknown, so we’ll have to wait for more information because Microsoft is looking to announce the plans in the “relatively near future.”
