Capcom has recently streamed their Monster Hunter Rise Digital Event that focuses on the massive and upcoming Sunbreak expansion that’s set to release on June 30, 2022.

Coming from the 16-minute showcase, there’s a lot to look forward to next month, as Hunters will not only see a new hub, but also new monsters and challenges to conquer.

For those on a tight schedule and just want the good stuff, here’s a (Sun)breakdown of the details:

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Overview

• A new base, Elgado, will serve as your second hub aside from Kamura
• Master Rank levels will be added
• New locales, actions, and monsters

New Monsters

• Seregios – flagship monster of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
• Aurora Somnacanth – ice-based subspecies of the Somnacanth from Monster Hunter Rise
• Magma Almudron – fire-based subspecies of the Almudron, also from Monster Hunter Rise

Malzeno

• Flagship monster of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
• An Elder Dragon that absorbs other monsters’ energies by commanding mysterious creatures to capture them

Follower Quests

• Single Player quests where various NPCs can join players in the hunt
• There will be characters that can join the player from Kamura as well as the new base Elgado

Switch Skill Swap and Swap Evade

• Equip up to two sets of Switch Skills that you can swap
• Swap Evade lets you change position while swapping skills to avoid monster attacks

Releases

• Sunbreak will be available digitally if you already own a physical/digital version of Monster Hunter Rise
• A Deluxe Edition will also be available with add-on content like layered armors and gestures
• A “Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak” Set will also be available that includes both the base game and expansion
• Pre-ordering any version will give players bonus layered armors for your Palico and Palimute companions
• New Amiibos will be available that will unlock Layered Armors for the upcoming expansion
• A Nintendo Switch Pro Controller with a Sunbreak motif will also be released
• Save data from Monster Hunter Stories 2 unlocks a Navirou layered armor for your Palico in the expansion
