SEGA has revealed the opening theme song of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, which is scheduled to release on September 25, 2025, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games.

The opening theme is entitled “Cross the Worlds” and is performed by James Bourne of Busted, with music provided by Takahiro Kai. It sounds upbeat and energetic, and definitely suits the look and feel of the game.

Here’s what players can expect from the game when it launches in September:

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a brand-new title crafted by an elite crew of SEGA racing game developers. Playerscan join Sonic and 22 other familiar faces for some high-octane, unpredictable racing fun against players worldwide—and across gaming platforms too, thanks to crossplay support!

Compete online in World Match—a race between up to 12 players, the team-oriented Friend Match, and Time Trial. The new Gadget feature also adds a layer of strategic depth to the game, letting you personalize your vehicles with over 70 different effects. Every aspect of your ride, including its parts, colors, decals, and textures, can be tailored to your preferences.

To ramp up the excitement, racers in the second lap will be transported to a different world once they pass through the Travel Ring. With 24 main courses, 15 CrossWorlds, the series’ largest roster, and a huge variety of items, there’s no shortage of action, speed, and strategy to enjoy!
