Capcom has officially revealed that a large-scale expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds is currently in development.

The announcement comes as the game celebrates its first anniversary, signaling that more adventures, monsters, and content are on the horizon for players seeking additional activities.

Version 1.041 Update Launches February 18

Alongside the expansion news, Capcom confirmed that the Version 1.041 update will roll out on February 18, 2026. This update introduces balance adjustments, bug fixes, and anniversary-themed content to keep the community engaged while the expansion is being prepared.

Some of the big features coming in the update are:

• Arch-tempered Arkveld
• 10-star Arch-tempered monsters
• Monster Hunter Stories 3 Special Collaboration
• Design Contest Weapon & Pendant
• Anniversary Event + Event Quests

Arch-Tempered Arkveld Arrives

The update introduces the fearsome Arch-Tempered Arkveld, available in a new permanent event quest for hunters with HR 100+. Completing these 10★ quests will reward players with Timeworn Charms and Battle-tempered Emblems, essential for reinforcing Gogma Artian weapons.

In addition, other apex predators from the Forbidden Land will also receive the Arch-Tempered treatment, with high-difficulty optional quests available for seasoned hunters.

Festival of Accord Returns

The popular Festival of Accord events are back, rotating weekly throughout the anniversary period:

• Blossomdance: Feb 18–25
• Flamefete: Feb 25–Mar 4
• Dreamspell: Mar 4–12
• Lumenhymn: Mar 12–19

These festivals bring back limited-time equipment and seasonal rewards, giving players another chance to collect exclusive gear.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 Collaboration

To celebrate the launch of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, Monster Hunter Wilds will feature a special collaboration quest. Players can team up with Rudy, the Royal Palico, to earn themed Palico equipment and pendants. Delivering rare Monstie eggs during the quest will unlock even greater rewards.

Extra Side Missions and Rewards

Hunters can also join support hunter Nadia in a new cooperative side mission to unlock her armor set. Additional event quests will roll out weekly, including hunts for lesser-seen monsters and quests that reward exclusive gear like the Gala Suit α armor and Felyne Star α equipment.

What Players Can Expect from the Monster Hunter Wilds Expansion

While details on the expansion remain limited, Capcom teased that it will deliver new large-scale content designed to build on the foundation of Monster Hunter Wilds. More information about this is expected this Summer.
