PS6 Release Date Still Undecided

In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, Totoki explained that the company is carefully monitoring the global component shortage and trade wars, which continue to impact production costs and supply chains.

“Considering that importance, we need to take some action. Otherwise, we cannot survive in this landscape”.

Analysts had previously predicted a 2027 release window, but Totoki clarified that no timeline has been finalized, according to the article.

“Totoki said the company still hasn’t fixed a date for PS6’s launch.”

This is quite similar to what Totoki had mentioned back in May:

“We have not yet decided on at what timing we will launch the new console, or at what prices. So we would like to really observe and follow the situation.

Analysts Speculate on Pricing

Speculation around the PS6’s pricing has also intensified, with some analysts suggesting a minimum of $1,000, given the PS5 Pro’s $900 price point. However, Totoki stressed that Sony is still evaluating the situation before making any commitments.
