CD PROJEKT RED has officially revealed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, set to release on September 29, 2026. The upgrade will be free for existing owners on qualifying platforms and introduces a host of improvements, including upgraded visuals, enhanced combat, improved traversal, revamped skill trees, new Witcher sign effects, expanded photo mode, and more.
The remaster will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a native version also coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
Songs of the Past Expansion Revealed
A teaser at gamescom Opening Night Live showcased Songs of the Past, the next expansion for The Witcher 3. Launching in 2027, the expansion takes Geralt to Letten, a picturesque land steeped in rural tradition and folklore. Beneath its idyllic surface lies a dark secret, forcing players to confront new enemies and uncover a long‑dormant evil.
Songs of the Past is co‑developed with Fool’s Theory, a studio led by Witcher 3 veterans, and is now available to wishlist ahead of release.
The Witcher 3 Free Expansions for All Players
As an added surprise, all current owners of The Witcher 3 now gain access to its acclaimed expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, at no additional cost.
Blizzard Entertainment Partnership
In addition, a new partnership with Blizzard Entertainment brings the game to Battle.net, complete with exclusive crossover rewards in Diablo 4.
