Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two Begins With Godzilla Pack and Major Ver. 2.0.0 Update

SEGA has officially kicked off Year Two of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds with the release of the highly anticipated Godzilla Pack, alongside the massive free Ver. 2.0.0 update that introduces new gameplay features and modes for players across all platforms.
The Godzilla Pack serves as the first DLC offering in Season Pass Two, bringing the King of the Monsters to the racing circuit. Players can take control of three themed vehicles: the Godzilla Cruiser, Mothra Surf Machine, and King Ghidorah Coupe, while racing through the new Godzilla Escape course inspired by the iconic kaiju franchise.
The DLC also adds several Godzilla-themed music tracks to the in-game Jukebox.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Godzilla Festival Event Starts This Week
In addition to the DLC release, SEGA has announced the upcoming Godzilla Festival, a limited-time event beginning on November 6 and running until November 16, 2026.
During the event, players will join one of three teams and compete in various race challenges to earn Festival Points. Rewards include exclusive decals, horns, titles, and other in-game items.
Ver. 2.0.0 Introduces Duel Mode and Super Slots
The free Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Ver. 2.0.0 update brings one of the game’s biggest gameplay expansions yet. Headlining the update is Duel Mode, a new 1-on-1 competitive format available both online and offline. Players can activate a unique Duel Boost mechanic after filling a dedicated gauge, creating intense head-to-head races focused on timing and skill.
The update also introduces Super Slots, a seventh Gadget slot that enhances the effects of equipped Gadgets. Players can unlock this feature by reaching the Grand Master Plate milestone. Additionally, 15 new Gadgets have been added to further expand customization and racing strategies.
Other notable additions include:
- Free Match playlists that do not affect player rankings
- Improved matchmaking through a new Rivals system
- Play Missions that reward Duel Medals and Donpa Tickets
- A new in-game Shop where players can exchange earned currencies for cosmetics and rewards
