Netflix gives first look at the Splinter Cell animated series, announces Far Cry series
On top of the E3 festivities this week, Netflix is joining in on the fun by dropping a ton of announcements this weekend about future projects as part of Geeked Week.
In partnership with Ubisoft, the streaming service will be bringing in 3 animated series in the form of “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix,” “Far Cry,” and the previously announced “Splinter Cell” series.
For starters, we get a first look at the upcoming Splinter Cell animated series, which was first announced nearly a year ago. The writer and executive producer for the series will be none other than Derek Kolstad, famously known for his work on the John Wick franchise, and will be an eight-episode stint.
Next is “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix”, which is a six-episode season that is helmed by Adi Shankar, best known for his work on Castlevania, who will serve as creator and executive producer. The series is an original anime featuring alter egos of Ubisoft characters in a deep homage to the early 90s.
Last, a “Far Cry” series has been announced. Details are scarce for this one, but will be based on the popular series of the same name.
