The Nintendo Switch OLED already has a protective covering for its glass screen
If you managed to snag yourself a Nintendo Switch OLED over the weekend, there’s a big chance that your first order of business was to buy a protective pouch for it or install a screen protector. It turns out, you didn’t have to because the device actually comes with a protective cover for the glass screen.
As reported by The Verge, the new Nintendo Switch OLED already has a protector of sorts, since the screen is now made of glass instead of plastic from previous versions. It is very discrete, so much so that you might not even notice that it’s there, but the “anti-scattering adhesive film” is placed to avoid the glass from shattering, actually protecting you from any untoward incidents while also providing the glass with some form of scratch protection.
That said, it is still perfectly fine if you place a screen protector on top of it, and Nintendo assures that it will not interfere with the one that’s already there. The only real disclaimer here is that Nintendo advises not to remove this sheet of film, as mentioned in the manual of the device. I mean, who actually reads that?
