CD Projekt Red have become the target of a cyber attack, which have left some of their internal systems compromised.

In an announcement posted in various social media channels, an unidentified personality has gained access and has held their data ransom. CDPR have announced also that they have since secured their IT infrastucture and are restoring the data through their backups.

The company is still investigating the matter, but have confirmed that personal player data have not been compromised, as far as they know at this point.

The ransom note left by the hacker points out that they have “full copies of the source codes from your perforce server for Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, Gwent, and the unreleased version of Witcher 3”. Not only that, the hacker claims to have other internal documents “relating to accounting, administration, legal, HW, investor relations, and more!”

CD Projekt Red isn’t the only company to have faced malicious cyber attacks recently, as Capcom was a victim as well just a few months ago.
