Diablo IV Open Beta PC System Requirements Revealed, Ray Tracing Coming After Launch

Blizzard Entertainment has revealed the PC system requirements needed for the upcoming Diablo IV open beta.

During a recent livestream hosted by key members of the team – Game director Joe Shely, lead systems designer Meng Song, and lead world designer Art Peshkov – the open beta system requirements were detailed, among other things, to provide PC players something to look forward to in the coming weeks.

Check out the minimum and recommended system requirements needed tio run the game at 1080p native resolution / 720p render resolution, low graphics settings, 30 fps:

Minimum Requirements for PC
  • Operating System: 64-bit Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-8100
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon R9 280
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: SSD with 45 GB available space
  • Internet: Broadband Connection
Recommended Specifications for PC
  • Operating System: 64-bit Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4670K or AMD R3-1300X
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon RX 470
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: SSD with 45 GB available space
  • Internet: Broadband Connection

The developers have also said that ray tracing will not be available during the open beta, but is a feature that they “plan to add sometime after launch.”

  • New Open Beta PC specs were announced, along with the beastly Beta Wolf Pack reward. Also, prepare to battle the onslaught of hellfiends with an early download option for Diablo IV launch!
  • During the Early Access weekend, only the RogueSorcerer, and Barbarian class will be available, with the Necromancer and Druid class getting added for the Open Beta weekend. Players can create up to 10 characters during this time, providing ample opportunity to try multiple hero styles and paths. 
  • The in-game Armor system was showcased in depth, laying out the origins, details, and goals of the feature.
  • A gargantuan world boss will be available for players to challenge themselves and reap rewards.
  • Play solo or group with friends—enlist a second player to help slay demons with the couch co-op option.
  • Strongholds, overcome by evil, can be conquered in a permanent change for good in the world. They can transform into towns, host new waypoints, or become a local hotspot for events.
  • Any progress made during the Early Access weekend will carry over to the Open Beta weekend. All characters will be deleted once the beta ends.
  • And finally, there will be an upcoming community play stream “Community Play Livestream” on March 24.

Diablo IV will have its Early Access and Open Beta starting March 17, 2023 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
