After cancelling the live event due to the COVID-19 situation, an Evo online event was supposed to take its place. Sadly, that too is not happening anymore.

In a surprise announcement from the team, Evo Online is now cancelled as a response to the recent allegations made against co-founder Joey Cuellar.

Before the cancellation, companies like Capcom, Bandai Namco, NetherRealm, and Mane6, among others, have already pulled out of the event. Multiple personalities including SonicFox have also withdrawn from the event as a response to the allegations.

Evo has now appointed Tony Cannon as their new CEO.
