According to Tetsuya Nomura, Remake series Creative Director, despite the many FFVII projects being developed in parallel, each entry plays a different role and is all connected through its world and characters. Rebirth is designed for players to enjoy, whether they know or have played the original or not.

Nomura hopes to share what the “Remake” and “Rebirth” titles mean and where this will all lead in the future.
