Kurama From Netflix’s Yu Yu Hakusho Live-action Adaptation Revealed
Netflix has revealed the actor who will be playing Kurama in the Yu Yu Hakusho live-action adaptation, and he is none other than Japanese actor Jun Shison.
An exclusive reveal courtesy of IGN shows Shison donning Kurama’s classic long locks, a trademark look of the fan-favorite character from the anime. Kurama has the ability to transform into a more powerful fox demon and is an integral party member in Yusuke’s crew.
Shison has taken part in quite a number of TV shows and stage performances, such as the role of Masa in The Way of the Househusband Movie. He is also a voice actor who performed as Hibiki from Bubble. In 2019, Shison won as Newcomer of the Year in the 43rd Elan d’or Awards.

Just recently, Netflix and IGN also revealed that Takumi Kitamura will be playing the lead role of Yusuke, and will be revealing more characters very soon, presumably Kuwabara and Hiei.
The live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho from Netflix is scheduled to premiere in December 2023.
