Upcoming Netflix series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will be canon to the game
Paul W. S. Anderson’s Resident Evil film series may be over, but the famous survival horror franchise isn’t done just yet. Raccoon City survivors Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield just can’t catch a break as they’re gearing up once again for another entry into the world of survival horror.
Revealed back in September, what we know so far is that the upcoming CG series by Netflix will bring both fan favorites back together. That’s was about it, leaving fans to wonder even more.
Well now we know a bit more about it now as Netflix has just released some new screenshots showing our zombie slayers and they’re looking pretty damn good.
What’s even more exciting is that statement saying that the series will be part of the game’s official canon storyline. As to where Infinite Darkness will fit into the official timeline is anyone’s guess, but it is good to know that it will be something that will be quite familiar to fans of the series.
Hey, for all we know it may have taken place before Resident Evil 4 and Leon’s first encounter with the Las Plagas virus, or even after. Leon is sporting some facial hair reminiscent of his look in Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil: Vendetta after all.
Claire too looks young enough to believe this may be just before or after her encounters in Resident Evil: Revelations 2. It’s all just speculation at this point as no further details have been revealed. But that makes it all the more fun to discuss.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness will be streaming on Netflix sometime in 2021.
