Before Persona 3 released and changed the face of JRPGs for the foreseeable future, Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne held that crown back in 2004 with its bleak plot and mature themes. Fifteen years later, the HD remaster launched to revisit that title, but only in Japan. A western release is now confirmed for a May 25 launch, as specified in the message from the director of Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne Kazuyuki Yamai.

Previously noted to be released on the Nintendo Switch for Spring 2021 alongside Shin Megami Tensei V, this is good news for fans of the series expecting it to come on other platforms. This year is really shaping up to a year of revisiting previous favorites as we pave the way for new IPs with the next generation of consoles.

Shin Megami Tensei III Nocture HD Remaster will launch on May 25 on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC.
