Two Silent Hill projects are rumored to be in development

Ahh Silent Hill, a title that has been rumored to death over such a long time. Care for another one?

First report, as per VGC, is speculation over a recent Bloober Team (The Medium) interview with GamesIndustry.biz. Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno has been quoted with saying that “In fact, we’ve been working for more than a year on another gaming project, another horror IP, and we’re doing this with a very famous gaming publisher. I can’t tell you who. I can’t tell you what the project is, but I’m pretty sure when people realize we’re working on it, they will be very excited.

Speculation is pointing the new game by Bloober Team is hinting at Silent Hill, which also looks to be an inspiration of their latest title. Might it also be coincidence that Akira Yamaoka, Silent Hill composer, worked on The Medium as well?

Another rumor from the VGC report also points out that Konami has already outsourced a Silent Hill project to a prominent Japanese developer, with a reveal due this summer. This would make the second game that’s currently in-line with the Bloober Team rumor.

Konami has also reportedly approached Supermassive Games (The Dark Pictures Anthology) to pitch a reboot, but was not signed and eventually became the episodic Dark Picture games.

Surely, we have to take these things with a grain of salt, as with all rumors, but if they are indeed true, then we can expect two Silent Hill games in development that could be revealed in the next few months.
