Watch Dogs: Legion scheduled for release on October 29, next-gen upgrade will be free of charge

Ubisoft Forward gave a host of announcements and updates earlier today and one of them was for Watch Dogs: Legion, the next title in the series that was silent up until today.

Watch Dogs: Legion sets London as the backdrop for the framing of secret underground resistance DedSec as the cause of the widespread bombings. As a member of DedSec, you will be going up against criminal opportunists in Watch Dogs: Legion and you must recruit members into the DedSec Resistance to take on these criminal opportunists, liberate London and uncover the mystery behind Zero-Day.

The highlight of the Watch Dogs: Legion presentation was the gameplay overview, which gives us a detailed look at the “Play as Anyone” feature, giving players the entire city of London to choose their roster of resistance members from. Every single person in the open world can be recruited and played, is unique and has a backstory, personality and skillset.

The London setting gives players the perfect backdrop to recruit all kinds of characters – who each have unique skills and weapons – to their Resistance: from an MI6 agent to a bareknuckle fighter, from a brilliant hacker to a getaway driver, from a football hooligan to an inconspicuous old lady.

Scheduled to launch on October 29 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Watch Dogs: Legion will give existing current gen users a free next-gen upgrade free of charge and will be a launch title for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
