Half-Life: Alyx is currently set to release in March and to hype up the release, Valve is opening up the Half-Life series for free on Steam for the next 2 months leading up to launch.

Included in the free trial would be Half-Life 1 and 2 along with all DLC’s corresponding to the titles like Blue Shift and both Episodes of Half-Life 2.

Alyx is supposedly set in between the events of 1 and 2, so this is a great move by Valve to get everyone up to speed in the series, which unfortunately still can’t count to 3. Valve says that “The Half-Life: Alyx team believes that the best way to enjoy the new game is to play through the old ones, especially Half-Life 2 and the episodes, so we want to make that as easy as possible.”
