Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expansion announced, adds new story and characters
Mortal Kombat 11 served as a resurgence of the series with its revamped gameplay and much improved storytelling. So improved, in fact, that NetherRealm studios decided that it was just about right to add a new expansion to it that not only adds your usual characters and stages, but a whole new story mode as well that takes place right after the events of Mortal Kombat 11.
Enter Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, a brand spaking new expansion with a mind blowing trailer to boot.
The trailer below contains spoilers from Mortal Kombat 11, view at your own risk.
What did I just watch? That was crazy… Even crazier, did I just see RoboCop?!
Yep, Aftermath not only adds a whole new story mode, it also adds new stages and stage fatalities, skins, and 2 new characters in the form of Fujin, Sheeva, who will both be playing pivotal roles in the story mode.
I said 2? I meant 3 new characters, with RoboCop being the third. While it’s not quite a surprise to see characters from other franchises make its way into the game (like T-800 and Spawn), I’m pretty sure nobody was expecting RoboCop.
Old school stages like the Dead Pool make a return with Aftermath and if the extreme violence from Mortal Kombat has got you queasy, Friendships are back as well.
Pre-orders for Aftermath will include the Eternal Klash Skin Pack for Scorpion, Frost, and Sub-Zero. There will be more skin packs added soon.
If you already own Mortal Kombat 11, you can choose to upgrade to Aftermath for $40 or around PHP2,000. A bundled package for Mortal Kombat 11 with Aftermath will set you back $60 or around PHP3,000.
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath will be available digitally on May 26 for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, and Stadia.
