PlayStation 5 may not be cheap, but it will provide the best possible value
We know about the specs, the controller, and even about the possible games confirmed for the PS5. In fact, a PlayStation 5 event will be happening on June 5 4AM Philippine time that will show off some of the next generation games we can all expect to play on the PS5.
What else is there to know? Oh yeah, something really important, the price.
A previous report by Bloomberg is putting the PS5 at around $500-550, but Sony is still keeping mum about it up to now. In a recent interview with Games Industry, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan had this to say about how the PS5 will be priced.
“I think the best way that we can address this is by providing the best possible value proposition that we can. I don’t necessarily mean lowest price. Value is a combination of many things. In our area it means games, it means number of games, depth of games, breadth of games, quality of games, price of games… all of these things and how they avail themselves of the feature set of the platform.”
It would be quite misleading to put meaning to this, but at the very least what we can assume from it is that the PS5, whatever price it will have when it releases, will be a product that will give you good value for the money you will be spending. Whether it is $400 or $500 or $600, expect the PS5 to be worth it.
