Xbox Games Showcase to be all about games with a pre-show that shouldn’t be missed
After a great showing from Sony, Microsoft is looking to have its own mic drop moment as the Xbox Games Showcase is scheduled to premiere on July 23 at 9AM Pacific, which is July 24 12AM in local time.
What to expect then the presentation goes live? Xbox Marketing Head Aaron Greenberg says that it will have one focus and that is to show a LOT of games, a whole hour’s worth.
Despite persistent rumors of the possibility of a cheaper next gen alternative showing up during the event, Greenberg clarifies, that there will be “No business, devices or similar news, just games.” Remember when Sony said the same thing, only to close out the games reveal by showing the hardware? We’ll see if Xbox does the same here.
Halo Infinite will be the biggest star of the show and fans hope that it is just as awesome as they are wanting it to be. Phil Spencer is in good spirits and is pretty confident about the Xbox Series X, and hopefully the presentation will bring bombs from their first party studios.
Hellblade 2 is almost a sure thing, hopefully bringing gameplay with it. Are we going to see a new Perfect Dark game announced? A Lost Odyssey revival? A new Fable? A new RPG from Obsidian? We’ll get answers to all these and more as the showcase approaches.
Oh, and be early because the pre-show with Geoff Keighley isn’t something you would want to miss if this tease by Greenberg is any indication.
