Cyberpunk 2077 fans have chosen their favorite Lifepath
Episode 2 of Night City Wire gave us a lot of new gameplay details and one of those was about Lifepaths, which will give the players a choice between starting the game between a Nomad, Street Kid, or Corporate. These choices are not superficial, and will greatly affect your gameplay experience, choices, and story paths.
CD Projekt Red held an official poll over at their Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account asking the fans which lifepath they will be choosing when the game releases on November 19. With 2 days left to go in the poll, over 150,000 fans have voted and the results are rather close!
Street Kid is the favorite so far, getting 38% of the vote, with Nomad at a close second with 33.1%. Coming in last is Corporate, taking 28.9% of the vote. The results are rather interesting, as we’ve personally chosen Nomad, so it was nice to see how the results favored the no-nonsense Street Kid over others.
As mentioned, these choices are not superficial and will directly affect how you go about the game. Coming from Episode 2 of Night City Wire, we were treated with a sample as to how the Lifepaths will work. In one mission, the quest of dealing with a gun running Maelstrom Gang, each experience will differ according to which Lifepath you would take. A Corpo would know that the exec dealing with the Maelstrom Gang is Meredith Stout and you will know her interests, motives, and insider knowledge about this deal. A Nomad would know the intricacies of the Maelstrom Gang and with the tribal knowledge from the Badlands, you know what makes the gang tick. A Street Kid may be at a disadvantage with this deal not having the insider knowledge that a Corpo or Nomad would have. However, given their connections with Fixers, they can have an edge when dealing with nuanced situations like if the gang wanted some substances only a Street Kid can provide.
This is just a glimpse of how your choices will directly affect your Cyberpunk experience and it will be up to you to decide on how you want your version of V to turn out.
Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release on November 19 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with next generation versions to follow.
